New Nonprofit Formed to Support Youth Development and School Success
FAYETTEVILLE, NC, January 2, 2014 - A new national non-profit, Back-to-School, Inc., has been formed with a mission of developing and supporting efforts that increase academic success for students. Back-to-School, Inc. provides teen conferences/summits, conducts youth development research, and advocates for all children to have a quality education.
Founding Board Chair, Jerome Pinckney SFC, USA (Ret.) said, “Back-to-School, Inc. was founded as a result of the increasing need to develop and support research-based programming that increases academic success for students not only during the school year, but particularly during the summer months. We are the proud provider of the Annual Back-to-School Teen Explosion Conference, where we partner with local nonprofits, businesses and concerned citizens to provide hundreds of teens with preparing to go back to school in the Sandhills Region. As a concerned citizen, I believe that there is more work to be done and being a part of this organization allows me to give back to the community and be a part of the solution.”
The Board of Directors for Back-to-School, Inc. comprises of concerned citizens with diverse professional experience to include military, non-profit, education and the business industries.

Treasurer-Carmen Wade - Fayetteville, NC serves as the Coordinator of Supplemental Instruction & Assistant Coordinator for Student Life at Fayetteville State University
Member-Louie Scott, Jr - Albany, GA serves as the General Manager at Courtyard by Marriott Albany
Member-Dr. Teresa Thompson-Pinckney - Fayetteville, NC serves as president of T. Pinckney & Associates
